Dining is a wonderful experience at Mazagan Beach Resort with 8 restaurants offering mouth-watering traditional dishes served and prepared as they have been for hundreds of years are on the menu at authentic Mediterranean, Moroccan and speciality seafood restaurants.  We were able to dine in 3 of them in such a short time, breakfast and lunch was taken in Olives with a great buffet breakfast complete with delicious made to order omelettes and they can also deal with many food allergies and the gluten free bread is highly recommended. They even had a chocolate fountain to tempt you.

sel-de-merDinner our first evening was in the Sel de Mer seafood restaurant, which offers large varieties of fresh fish and seafood. They even have an oyster bar that you can go in and enjoyed a few before going on for dinner. Dinner was delicious and I can certainly recommend the lobster bisque all accompanied by delicious Moroccan wine

IMG_2785At the far end of the Casino is the Jockey Club which has recently opened and is a great place to enjoy a late night drink or to enjoy a meal break between bets.

Mazagan’s Casablanca casino, is Morocco’s largest and most exclusive casino.

Enjoy some Golf

Mazagan is also home to the longest golf course in Morocco – a par 72, 18-hole links course, designed by Gary Player, stretching alongside the beach, providing fantastic play for all levels of skill.

I was lucky enough to enjoy the Quad biking experience along the 7km  beach whilst one of my colleagues opted for horseriding also along the beach and in the forests, both of which can be ticked off our bucket lists.

Body & Mind

To totally unwind then you can allow your Body & Mind to be in perfect harmony whilst you stay at Morocco’s leading Spa resort.  Mazagan Spa offers stunning views on the Atlantic Ocean.

Exotic aromas and traditional rituals are the promise to an amazing journey. With its 19 treatments rooms the Spa offers a wide range of body and facial treatments, one not to be missed is the authentic hammam, we enjoyed a facial or massage which was one of the best I have had.  There is also a fitness centre equipped with the state-of the-art exercise machines.  The spa also offers a fantastic program for Hot Yoga, perfect for a retreat.

Situated in the grounds are the luxurious Mazagan Villas.  These three-bedroom villas have an amazing architecture and allow you to lounge at the private swimming pool or relax in the intimate garden villas at the Mazagan Beach Resort.

Mazagan villas offer breath-taking views of the fairways, greens and sea and enable you to take advantage of the resort’s luxurious facilities.

Nearby in the city of El Jadida is the Old Portuguese fortification of Mazagan, (a UNESCO World Heritage site) which was built as fortified colony on the Atlantic coast in the early 16th century. The surviving Portuguese buildings include the cistern and the Church of the Assumption.

The Portuguese City of Mazagan – is an outstanding example of the interchange of influences between European and Moroccan cultures, there are lots of narrow lanes and stunning architecture and even a few local souks to tempt you with some souvenirs.

IMG_2781Dinner that evening was in the fantastic Morjana Restaurant with its traditional oriental décor, we were served a delicious array of tagines and couscous all served with local Moroccan wines whilst being entertained by a belly dancer

IMG_2933We headed to the casino, which is open 23 hours a day, later that evening for a lesson in how to poker, not all of us perfected our poker faces but we all had great fun trying.

Breakfast was early the next morning before it was time to leave this fantastic hotel and head to Casablanca Airport ….. but what a 36 hours we had!

This resort is really an ideal getaway and offers incredible service, quality and value for money. So whether you are looking for a family holiday, couples get-away, luxurious long weekend break, guys golf and casino break or a girly spa break.
